FAQ
How do payment cycles work?
Start date Please note that a payment cycle does not necessarily follow calendar months. For example, if you subscribe on June 6th, your payment cycle will be from June 6th to July 5th. For your mobile service: The date on which you activate your SIM card is the anniversary date for your mobile plan, and this date marks the start of your payment cycle each month. For your Home Internet service: You received your Fizz Wi-Fi modem by mail? Its activation date marks the beginning of your payment cycle. Don’t forget, Fizz will activate it remotely three (3) days after its delivery date, but you can activate it yourself in your account if you’re ready before then. Your modem was delivered by a technician? If you had an installation appointment with a technician, your modem will be activated then, and the date of your appointment therefore marks the beginning of your payment cycle. For your TV service: The payment cycle for your TV plan will be the same as the one for your Home Internet plan. But because your TV plan is activated as soon as you subscribe, you may need to pay a prorated amount on that day to bridge the gap until the next payment cycle of your Home Internet plan . Say you subscribe to Fizz TV on December 14, but your next payment cycle for your Home Internet plan only starts on December 30. The prorated amount you will pay on December 14 will therefore correspond to those 16 days. Come your next full payment cycle, December 30 in our example, the payments for both those plans (internet and TV) will be combined, and the payment cycle for your TV plan will be synchronized to the payment cycle of your Home Internet plan. Duration Please note

My phone is using an unusual or high amount of data. Why?
The amount of data your phone uses may vary depending on how you use it, which native installations are running on it, and which applications you have installed. Some applications, native or not, can use your mobile data in the background. For example, cloud-based apps such as Google Drive or Apple iCloud could be using your data to automatically backup your photos, videos, and documents. Some streaming music or video services can also download content in the background. Fizz provides you with handy tools to keep you informed about your mobile data usage: A usage metre (visible when you first sign in to your account) tells you how fast you are consuming your minutes and your data, compared to the amount available in your plan. Notifications at 75%, 90% and 100% of your usage. Note: You must log into your account and activate notifications at 75% and 90% usage. If you do not, you will only receive a notification when you are at 100% of your usage. You can also check your mobile data usage directly via your phone. The steps to follow to check your data usage can vary depending on the type of phone you have. Here are two examples: Android: Settings → Connections → Data usage → Mobile data usage iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Cellular data usage Here are some examples of average usage: Type of service Bandwith Data Consumption YouTube UHD 4K: 6 to 10 Mbps 1080p: 4.5 Mbps 720p: 2.5 Mbps 480p: 2 Mbps UHD 4K: 2.7 to 4.5 GB/hour 1080p: 2 GB/hour 720p: 1.1 GB/hour 480p: 450 MB/hour Music streaming Audio quality: 320 Kbps Audio quality: 96 Kbps Audio quality 320 Kbps: 50 MB/hour Audio quality 96 Kbps: 44 MB/hour Video streaming (Other than YouTube) High video quality: 5 Mbps Medium video quality
FAQ
How does the Phone discount on a plan work?
Selected phones at Fizz.ca are identified with a purple stamp showing a percentage discount on your plan. By purchasing one of these phones, this discount will be applied to your mobile plan every month for 24 months. The Phone discount in detail Let’s illustrate with an example. You buy a phone identified with a 24-month 15% discount for your plan. You pay for your phone as usual, paying it upfront or spreading its cost with Affirm. You pair your phone with your mobile plan regularly priced at say $20/month. Your plan comes out then to $17/month ($20 – 15% Phone discount) for 24 months. After the 24-month period, your Phone discount ends and your plan goes back to its regular price of $20/month. No commitment and no minimum plan. Your Phone discount applies to your mobile plan, regardless of its value. And as always with Fizz, there’s no long-term commitment. The Phone discount will be applied to your mobile plan for 24 months, but you can choose to shorten this period. Several plans, several Phone discounts. For every mobile plan in your account, you can purchase a selected phone and take advantage of the Phone discount for that plan. In other words, the limit is one Phone discount per plan. Good to know: Transferring a discount is not possible. The discount remains associated with the plan that was selected when the phone was purchased. Discounts are not cumulative. If you’re already enjoying a discount with your plan, like a BETA price privilege, a Phone discount will replace it. Activating your discount Your Phone discount will be automatically applied based on your situation. With an existing plan: If when you purchase your phone you choose to pair it with your existing mobile plan, your Phone discount will be automatically applied on

What is a 5G mobile network?
What is a 5G mobile network? 5G is the fifth generation of wireless connectivity. It can transmit data up to 4 times faster than 4G LTE. It also allows a huge number of devices, i.e. up to one million per square kilometre, to work together at the same time. Latency (the delay between sending and receiving data) is greatly reduced, which makes everything feel faster and more responsive. At Fizz, 5G is safe. It mainly uses the same frequencies as 4G LTE and complies with all Health Canada and ISED standards, with no difference when it comes to data protection and privacy. The 5G network is used for data only; voice calls still use the 4G LTE network. Depending on your phone model, the 5G icon may still appear during a call. For now, Voice over 5G is not available with Fizz. How can I access 5G? To use 5G, you need three things: Be in a covered area Our 5G network is expanding and currently serves the main urban areas. Check our coverage map to see where 5G is available. Have a compatible device Take a look at the Phone characterisctics section on our site to see if your phone is 5G-compatible. For more details, refer to the technical specifications provided by your phone’s manufacturer. On a compatible device, the option is automatically enabled when you have a compatible 5G plan (after switching to a 5G plan). If not, please check your device settings by referring to the manufacturer’s website. Please note that 5G service cannot be guaranteed on devices that were not purchased from Fizz. Have a plan that includes 5G Make sure you've selected a plan that includes 5G. For an already active line whose plan doesn’t include 5G, you’ll need to change to a 5G‑enabled plan

Referral program: how do referral bonuses work?
Eligibility conditions - The referral bonus for the active Fizz member and the new member is automatically applied to their respective monthly plan payment once the new member has completed two (2) months of service, provided that both have an active plan at that time. - The new member’s monthly plan must be at least $20, before taxes and after applicable discounts. When are referral bonuses awarded? When your friend subscribes to Fizz using your referral code, both of your referral bonuses will be pending until your invited friend becomes a paying member. Same goes if you're the one who was invited: your bonus (and that of the Fizz member who invited you) will be pending. When the invited person completes their second monthly payment, they will receive their referral bonus. From there, the referral bonus of the Fizz member who made the invitation will be applied on their next payment. If you have multiple plans, your referral bonuses will be applied on the payment for your default main plan (the oldest plan in your account). You can change your settings under your profile to choose another plan. Once that change is done, any future referral bonus will be assigned to that other chosen plan. Learn more on how to invite friends, and get invited. What is the amount of the referral bonus? The amount of the referral bonus may vary depending on the provinces where the new member’s and the active member’s plans are activated, as well as the offer in effect at the time of subscription. For a mobile plan, the bonus is based on the date the invited person activates their SIM card. For a Home Internet plan, it’s based on the date the invited person subscribes and chooses their installation appointment. As an example: Someone in

The ABCs of Fizz mobile services.
Good-to-know info about Fizz mobile services. Because no one can know everything about something, we tried to group interesting details about our mobile services. The coverage area you choose (regardless of the province) determines where your calls and text messages are included. • Canada coverage: your incoming and outgoing calls are included anywhere in the country. • Provincial coverage (e.g., Quebec, Ontario, etc.): your incoming and outgoing calls are included only when you are in the selected province. Things to remember: – If you receive a call while you are within your coverage area, the call is included, regardless of the province or country the call is coming from. – If you make or receive a call while you are outside your coverage area, the call is not included and will not be completed. Solution: To make or receive calls outside your coverage area, you must add a Travel Add‑On. – If you are physically inside your coverage area and make a call to a destination outside your coverage area, the call is not included and will not be completed.
