How to activate my modem If a technician came by to install your modem, then no need for you to activate your modem. The technician did it for you. For an internet service move, your plan will automatically be reactivated at the new address on the selected date. No action is required on your part. Restart your Wi-Fi modem Unplug the power cable on your Wi-Fi modem. Make sure all the lights on the modem are off once you have unplugged it. Wait ten (10) seconds. Plug your modem back into the electrical outlet. Expect a three (3) minute delay to allow your devices to reconnect to the Wi-Fi network. Recommendation: It is more effective to restart your Wi-Fi modem by unplugging its power cable instead of pressing its power button. Check the status of the LEDs on your Wi-Fi modem A list of the lights of your Wi-Fi modem and the different possible states: Display ? Power ? On (Lit): The modem has power. ? Subscription area versus coverage area
Mobile services are available in the provinces of Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, and British Columbia. To check if your address is located in an area where the subscription is available and to get more details about the coverage, please refer to our dynamic coverage map. What is the difference between my coverage area and subscription area? Your coverage area is where you can use your Fizz plan without paying roaming fees. When you subscribed and created your plan, you chose your coverage area: provincial (Quebec, Ontario, British Colombia, Alberta or Manitoba), Canada or USA + Canada. If you roam outside your coverage area, you can use your Fizz plan on our partner networks. Log into your account any time to change your coverage area: How to change your plan. Any change will take effect at the start of your next payment cycle. If you selected the provincial coverage in your plan, consider buying a Travel Add-on or an International call Add-on to make your calls to Canada or the United States. The subscription area is the area where you must live to be a Fizz subscriber. If you live in the subscription area and your address is not recognized, do not hesitate to contact us so that we check with you. Use your Fizz account to check whether a destination is included or not in your coverage area. Once logged in, under your mobile plan, click on Manage / Add-ons. Enter the destination. If the search gives no result, it means that the destination is included in the coverage area you chose for your plan. How can I access and use my voicemail?
Visual messaging now available at Fizz. Available for iOS and Android phones, Visual Messaging is included for free with the Voicemail option in your plan. You can listen to and manage your messages without having to "call" your voicemail. You own to have data to take advantage of it. To activate / deactivate your voicemail Make sure you have the voicemail option as part of your plan, and that your plan has minutes or else you will not be able to access it whether from your mobile phone or another phone. If your voicemail isn’t activated in your plan , you'll have to add the voicemail option. IMPORTANT - Any change to your plan must be made in accordance with the plan change policy detailed on https://fizz.ca/en/plan-change-policy. This change will then come into effect when your next payment cycle begins. (Under: My plans > Manage plan > Make changes to this plan > Change plan > Visual messaging) To access your voicemail To access your voicemail, hold the ''1'' key on your phone for a few seconds. For many phones, holding the ''1'' key the speed dial option to reach voicemail. This may vary between different phone models. The speed dial setting "1" to access voicemail (1-514-647-0999) may vary from one phone to another since it depends on each model’s operating system. Additionally, this setting may not be editable in all phones. If you are forwarding your calls to another number, the voicemail won’t pick up the call. Voicemail access is available when you are outside Canada and the United States by using a Voice Travel Add-on. How do I get started with my new phone?
The excitement that comes with the arrival of a new phone is hard to beat. Congratulations on your latest acquisition. We are delighted you chose Fizz to enjoy it. Any phone purchased on fizz.ca is unlocked. You are solely responsible for the security and privacy maintenance of your phone. Adding a passcode for example to protect your phone from unauthorized use is good practice. If you are new to Fizz mobile services Welcome! Activating your Fizz SIM card with the plan of your dreams is the first thing to do. Visit fizz.ca/activation and follow the on-screen steps. If anything is unclear, check out our activation FAQ . If you already have an active Fizz mobile plan If your new phone is replacing one with an active Fizz mobile plan, follow these steps: Pop out the phone tray of your old phone, and retrieve your Fizz SIM card. Place it into the tray of your new phone.* Restart your phone. Your phone will authenticate to the Fizz mobile network, and work with your existing mobile plan. Remember, the content from your old phone will not be imported with the SIM card swap. This includes your contacts, your Google or Apple ID account, old text messages, and the various apps you downloaded over time. Your Fizz SIM card is too small for your new phone? Use the support it came in to adjust its size to a larger one. If you don’t have that plastic support anymore, you’ll have to order a new SIM card . What is the 15-day return policy for a phone bought with Fizz?
To return your phone under the 15-day return policy, you must submit your request online within 15 days of the date on which you received your phone . Once that delay has expired, the 15-day return policy will be expired, and you will no longer be able to return your phone for a refund. To return your phone under the 15-day return policy, your mobile data usage must not have exceeded 50% of the data included in the mobile plan associated with that phone. Note: members with an approved disability attestation have a 30-day trial. There is a limit of one (1) 15-day return per account per year. Specific conditions There are several conditions and important information you must know and accept before returning your phone, including the presence of an administrative fee if your return request is denied. See all the conditions The following additional conditions are specific to the 15-day return policy: You must send back your phone with all its accessories, including the charger and the original box. The phone must be like new. It wasn’t dropped. There is no scratch or any physical damage to the case, screen, buttons or connectors, camera lens and/or flash. In the case of a refurbished phone, it’s in the same condition as when you bought it from Fizz. One (1) return per account per year is allowed under the 15-day return policy. Beyond that number, we won’t be able to honour any return request. Troubleshooting: I’m having issues with my Fizz TV channels. What do I do?
Check your signal Remember, no Internet means no TV. Your TV channels are delivered over your Fizz Home Internet connection. If you’re running into any issue with your TV service, start by checking your Internet connection. Check the region on your device The region settings of any compatible device you are watching your Fizz TV content on must be set to Canada. How to check and change the region: Apple TV: Settings > General > Region > select “Canada”. Roku: A Roku device remembers the IP address you use and sets your region from the second you connect it to the Internet. This means you may need to create a new Roku account, reset your Roku device and link the device to your new account. Refer to your device instructions. Android TV/Android mobile: In Google Play Store > Settings > General > Account and Device Preferences > Country and Profiles > Select “Canada”. Amazon Fire TV: Sign in to your Amazon account linked to the Firestick > Accounts and Lists > Content and Devices > Preferences > Country/Region Settings > Change > Select “Canada”. Apple mobile (iOS/iPad): Settings > (your name at top) > Media & Purchases > View Account > Country/Region > Change Country or Region > Select “Canada”. At Fizz, there are no fixed-term contracts. Once you activate your plan, we do provide you with a Services agreement. Every time you change your plan (and you can change it anytime), you will get a new Services agreement. This ensures that the terms of your service are clearly defined and easy for you to review.
