Unable to sign into the Fizz TV app from your device Start by checking if the device you are using is connected to your Fizz Home Internet. The credentials for the app are the same as those for your Fizz account. Did you change your password for your account at Fizz.ca recently? If so, it’ll have changed for the Fizz TV app as well. Is the app up to date? Install any pending application updates. Verify if the problem occurs when using a different device. Did you block Internet access on your device? Check your Wi-Fi network’s parental control settings. If your device is blocked and cannot use your Wi-Fi network, Fizz TV will not work on it. No Internet means no TV. Make sure you are not using a personal router and that you are properly connected to your Fizz modem. App keeps loading If you are unable to access the Fizz TV app because it’s stuck on the loading indicator, here are possible solutions that may help you out: Check your Internet connection. I can’t send or receive text messages (SMS). Why?
Some text messages sent by businesses such as 2-step verification messages may not be sent to your phone properly. We continue to gradually roll out this type of service so that it operates optimally with as many companies as possible. Make sure you are in a zone that has adequate coverage. See our network coverage map If you are outside the Fizz network, you can connect via our partner network. Learn about accessing our partner network Troubleshooting: Make sure your plan includes text messages Log into your account to access the text message activation tool. If your plan does not include text messages, it will be impossible for you to send texts on your phone. You can adjust your plan up to 108 hours before the end of your payment cycle to add text messaging. This change to your plan will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. You can also add minutes to your plan and use them immediately by buying an Add-On for local or long-distance calls. Restart your phone Reboot (power cycle) your phone by holding down the phone’s start button for 10 seconds. After you reboot, your applications will reload. Your phone will then re-authenticate to the Fizz mobile network. This will allow your phone to recover its authorization to access the network. Do you use a native application? Make sure you are using your phone’s native messaging app. If you are using a non-native application to send your messages, it’s possible that the issue originates with this app. These messaging apps may have their own server or messaging centre. How do I get started with my new phone?

Any phone purchased on fizz.ca is unlocked. You are solely responsible for the security and privacy maintenance of your phone. Adding a passcode for example to protect your phone from unauthorized use is good practice. If you are new to Fizz mobile services Welcome! Activating your Fizz SIM card with the plan of your dreams is the first thing to do. Visit fizz.ca/activation and follow the on-screen steps. If anything is unclear, check out our activation FAQ . If you already have an active Fizz mobile plan If your new phone is replacing one with an active Fizz mobile plan, follow these steps: Pop out the phone tray of your old phone, and retrieve your Fizz SIM card. Place it into the tray of your new phone.* Restart your phone. Your phone will authenticate to the Fizz mobile network, and work with your existing mobile plan. Remember, the content from your old phone will not be imported with the SIM card swap. This includes your contacts, your Google or Apple ID account, old text messages, and the various apps you downloaded over time. Your Fizz SIM card is too small for your new phone? The 988 service is a Suicide Crisis Helpline that is free of charge and set up for anyone who is thinking about suicide, or who is worried about someone they know. The 988 Suicide Crisis Helpline is a new three-digit helpline that provides urgent, live support by phone and text to people in every province and territory across the country. The 988 service is available in English and French, 24 hours a day, every single day of the year across the country. Trained responders will listen without judgement while providing support. Who should use the 988 service? The 988 service is for anyone who is thinking about suicide, or who is worried about someone they know. While suicide prevention is the primary focus of the 988 service, no one will be turned away. Everyone who contacts the 988 service will be assessed for suicide risk. Responders are trained to deal with people going through a range of crises. Who runs the 988 service? Your home address Whether it’s your house, cottage or apartment, we need the address where you would like to have our Home Internet services installed. Make sure you pick the right one, all the way down to your apartment number if applicable. Universal call blocking
Please note that starting November 4, 2019, the entire Canadian telecom industry will gradually implement universal call blocking in an attempt to prevent telephone fraud. As a member of this industry, Fizz will be activating this feature for all its mobile service members. Starting this November 4th, non-compliant numbers could therefore be blocked. What is universal call blocking? Universal call blocking is an automated feature, based on well-defined rules. The feature is designed to block calls that do not comply with international numbering plan standards to counter unwanted calls and telephone fraud. Why is Fizz implementing this feature? Actually, starting November 4, 2019, the entire Canadian telecom industry (which Fizz is a part of) will be gradually implementing universal call blocking to counter unwanted calls and support the fight against telephone fraud. As a mobile phone service subscriber, you get all kinds of calls. The majority of them are legitimate; they come from family or friends. Others come from automated systems; even though some are honest calls (automated appointment reminders, for instance), a large number of them are unwanted and might actually be fraud related. That’s why Fizz, as a member of the Canadian telecom industry, will be implementing this feature for its members. Do I need to pay for universal call blocking? How do I know if I can use my own phone with Fizz?
Fizz guarantees the proper functioning of all the devices it sells. However, you may use your own device, provided it meets the requirements outlined below. Good to know: smartwatches are not supported at this time. If you wish to use an eSIM Important: Check your device compatibility before ordering an eSIM card, as not all phones support eSIM technology. Good to know: if your phone is not compatible with eSIMs, don’t worry. You can still get a physical SIM card online, or from one of our partner stores. Here are a few ways to check if your phone is compatible with eSIM technology: Visit your device manufacturer’s website or contact their customer support. In your phone’s settings, go to the SIM section. If you see an option to Add an eSIM, your device is compatible. Dial *#06#: if an EID (Embedded Identity Document) appears, your device supports eSIM. If you’re using your own phone, is it VoLTE-compatible with Fizz? The withdrawal of the 3G network began on July 31, 2025, for Fizz and several of its partners. What is my Wallet and how do I use it?
Good to know: Offers, services and prices are subject to change without notice and may differ by province. In the case of the Fizz Wallet, it is only offered in Quebec. Your Wallet is where you deposit and store money to cover Pay As You Go minutes, texts, minutes for international calls and roaming. Simply use your credit card to add funds to your wallet. The funds you deposit in your Wallet will not be spent unless: You decide to use them to Pay As You Go. Your plan only includes data. You will be able to use Pay As You Go make calls and send texts. You deplete your monthly plan and do not buy an Add-On. Funds in your Wallet will automatically be used to pay for calls and text. You cannot use the funds from your Wallet to pay for your monthly plan. Pay As You Go There are two key instances when Pay As You Go comes in handy: If you deplete your monthly plan before the end of your payment cycle, and you choose not to buy an Add-On to complete the month, your consumption will automatically switch to Pay As You Go. If you are travelling out of Canada, you can use Pay As You Go to pay for out-of-country data, calls, text and international calls.
