When are referral bonuses awarded? When your friend subscribes to Fizz using your referral code, both of your referral bonuses will be pending until your invited friend becomes a paying member. Same goes if you're the one who was invited: your bonus (and that of the Fizz member who invited you) will be pending. When the invited person completes their third monthly payment, they will receive their referral bonus. From there, the referral bonus of the Fizz member who made the invitation will be applied on their next payment. If you have multiple plans, your referral bonuses will be applied on the payment for your default main plan (the oldest plan in your account). You can change your settings under your profile to choose another plan. Once that change is done, any future referral bonus will be assigned to that other chosen plan. The amount of the referral bonus may vary depending on the provinces where the new member’s and the active member’s plans are activated, as well as the offer in effect at the time of subscription. For a mobile plan, the bonus is based on the date the invited person activates their SIM card. For a Home Internet plan, it’s based on the date the invited person subscribes and chooses their installation appointment. As an example: Someone in Quebec refers a person in Manitoba. Each will receive the referral bonus amount in their own region at the time of subscription. Please note that making and receiving calls outside Canada and the United States is currently unavailable. However, text messaging and data usage remain accessible. You can choose to get a block of data known as a Travel Add-on or you can even change your plan’s coverage if you’re travelling in Canada or the United States. But you know what? Wi-Fi always remains your best friend 😊 . Remember to activate the roaming option of your phone, or else it'll block your usage. How much will it cost. To see the rates for the place you’re heading to, sign into your account and go under My plans > Manage plan > Travel . Enter your destination. The site will show the prices for the available Travel Add-ons. Since Fizz is a prepaid service, there are no surprise fees. You are limited by the amount of data and/or SMS in your travel add-on. Choosing a Travel Add-On. As of now, only Travel Add-ons for data are available, except for Canada and the United States where Add-ons for calls and texts are also available. A Travel Add-on is basically a block of data at a fixed price that allows you to use your Fizz service while travelling outside your coverage area (roaming). Once purchased, you can use it immediately, and it will remain available until the end of your next payment cycle. To buy a Travel Add-on, sign into your account and go under My plans > Manage plan > Travel . Enter your destination and choose the one that suits you. Your Travel Add-on will be activated as soon as you pay for it. Should you run out, all you’ll have to do is hunt down a Wi-Fi network so you can access your account and get another one. Important to know if your plan doesn’t include mobile data If your plan includes no mobile data at all, you cannot receive data from another member. For example, if your plan includes only calls and texts, without data, you won’t be able to use a data gift sent by a friend. If you have unused data in your account, you can gift it to any member who is findable in the Fizz community (in other words, anyone who is not in Incognito mode), and whose plan includes data. You can choose to randomly gift data any time. Or, you can wait until it’s almost the end of your payment cycle and gift data before it rolls over. Learn about Rollovers If you want to gift unused data at the end of your payment cycle, you can gift it right before your current payment cycle ends. Once this cycle is over, however, the data will roll over — it will no longer be available to send as a gift. You cannot take back or unsend a data gift. Once you click Send, your gifted data is permanently removed from your plan. How do I gift data to another Member? To send a gift: Go to My Plans in your Fizz account. Scroll to the plan (if you have more than one in your account) that you want to gift from. Click Gift. On the next screen, choose Start gifting. Choose a contact or search for a new Fizz member who you want to gift to. This will open the gifting tool. * Select the amount of data you wish to gift and click Next. Note that a number transfer cannot be done on a line that is already active with Fizz. In other words, if you already have a Fizz plan, porting a number to this plan is not possible; you need to create a new plan. As outlined below, there are several possible reasons for this situation. Resend the request: We have sent you an email containing a link to restart your request. Follow the instructions: Click on the link and restart your request to complete the transfer of your number. To find the IMEI, dial *#06# on the phone you are using with your current provider. If the IMEI number is more than 15 digits long, only use the first 15. Important: don’t delete your eSIM. Never delete an active or about to be activated eSIM, including the one from your previous provider if you are transferring your number to Fizz. Too late? A few steps are now required to save the situation. See the steps If you get an error message after your eSIM is installed in your phone: The reason -> your phone is trying to connect to the Fizz network, but the transfer of your number hasn’t started. What you need to do -> go in your account under My plans > Manage my plan > Install my eSIM and click on the button to launch the transfer. Important -> Do NOT delete your eSIM. Too late?
