How do I configure my device on the Wi-Fi network?
Make sure that the Wi-Fi feature on your device is activated Your device may have a software and / or physical Wi-Fi switch. The location of the software switch may vary from one device to another. Here are two examples: Computer: Network and internet settings → Wi-Fi Smartphone: Settings → Connections → Wi-Fi Placement of the hardware switch can vary from one device to another. Here are two examples: An on/off button on the front or side of your laptop A combination of keys, for example: Function and F2 Select your Wi-Fi network The default username and corresponding password for your Wi-Fi network are written on a sticker on the back of your Wi-Fi modem (Default Wi-Fi network and Default key). The process for reconnecting to your Wi-Fi network may vary from one device to another. If allowed by your device, connect to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi frequency Your Fizz Wi-Fi modem defaults to frequency band steering technology. When this function is disabled, your Wi-Fi modem will display two (2) frequency bands: 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Manually select the 5GHz on your devices. Having trouble working from home (VPN or not)?
Make sure your Internet access works properly Without connecting to your VPN, test your access to Internet. Test with other devices as well. Restart your modem. 1. Unplug the power cable on your Wi-Fi modem. 2. Make sure all the lights on the modem are off once you have unplugged it. 3. Wait ten (10) seconds. 4. Plug your modem back into the electrical outlet. Expect up to a three (3) minute delay to allow your devices to reconnect to the Wi-Fi network. Recommendation: It is more effective to restart your Wi-Fi modem by unplugging its power cable instead of pressing its power button. Dedicate a Wi-Fi network to your work station You can dedicate a “guests” network to a portion of the users in your house in order to keep the main network for you: your kids or co-tenants will use a network parallel to yours. With the Fizz Wi-Fi app: 1. My Wi-Fi 2. Guests Wi-Fi network 3. Configure to your liking 4. Activate the Guests network Via the WebGUI: 1. Enter 192.168.0.1 in the address bar of the web browser of any device. 2. Connect using the following credentials: Username: cusadmin Password: xxxxxxxx (the password you chose when you initially set up) 3. Make your way to the following section to make the changes: Wireless → Basic settings → Guests Try connecting using a network cable (Ethernet) If you’re having trouble connecting to your VPN using the Wi-Fi connection, do the test by connecting a network cable (Ethernet) between your computer and your Fizz Wi-Fi modem. When will my Fizz package be delivered?
The delivery of your package, whether it is a SIM card, a phone or a Wi-Fi modem, is done by a third party. The delivery date indicated on your order summary is for reference only; Fizz cannot guarantee a specific delivery date. Important: The scheduled delivery date cannot be changed. What are the delivery times for a SIM card or a device? Please allow 2 to 5 business days for the delivery of a SIM card or a mobile device. Deliveries are made Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. If the delivery timeframe includes a public holiday, an additional day will be required. For the Wi-Fi modem included with your Internet service, you can choose your own delivery date. It will be scheduled at least two days after the date you place your order. To check the status of your SIM card delivery: You can check whether your order has been properly recorded under My settings > Order history > View Details. Please note that no tracking number is provided. If your order appears in your order history, it will be shipped automatically. I’m moving. How do I change my address for my Home Internet service?
Moving your Home Internet plan is done directly from your account. Submit your request under My plans > Manage plan > Moving my service. Word of the wise, don’t forget to pack your Fizz Wi-Fi modem and bring it with you on your moving day! No need to activate it at your new address; everything will be done automatically thanks to your moving order. Need to change your Home Internet plan? No worries, but plan to do so before or after your move. You cannot modify your Home Internet plan during your move. Date coordination Chances are the date you choose to deactivate your Home Internet service at your current address will differ from the installation date you select for your new digs. If that’s your case, no worries. Your plan will be simply put on pause, and you won't incur any fees during that time. Your payment cycle will shift and begin upon activation at your new address. You don't need to do anything; this activation will be done automatically. If a technician’s visit is required, the time needed to get an appointment varies based on demand. So, make sure to plan ahead during the moving season in June and July. A plan (or the service) is not available As you fill out your move request for your Home Internet plan, we’ll obviously ask you to enter your new address. One of three things can happen: > All is fine. This is great, but chances are this is not your case if you’re reading this section of our FAQ. > The download speed you have now is not available at your new address. What is the Speed booster?
The Speed Booster is a temporary offer that allows selected customers to enjoy a higher Internet speed free of charge for a limited period (15 days). Once activated, your Internet plan will automatically be boosted to a faster speed, at no additional cost. How does the Speed Booster work? Selected members will receive an email to that effect. If you have received the email, here are the steps to follow: Activate the Speed Booster in your rewards via My Account>My Benefizz> My rewards > My perks. Your Internet speed will increase to the next level, that is, the speed indicated on the Booster. After 15 days, your Internet speed will automatically return to your regular plan speed. Who can benefit from the Speed Booster? This offer is reserved for members with an active Internet plan at Fizz. It is available only where access and technology permit. Only selected customers will receive an email enabling them to activate the Speed Booster. How do I know if my new Internet speed has been activated? When you activate the Speed Booster, your Internet modem will take a few minutes to restart and the new speed will be activated The modem restart may take up to five minutes, during which your Internet connection will be interrupted. Once the modem has restarted, run a speed test to ensure you have the appropriate boosted speed. Download the Fizz Wi-Fi app to run a speed test. To log in, use the same credentials as your Fizz account.
