How do the promotional rebates offered on some phones sold by Fizz work?
A promotional rebate is sometimes offered for a limited time on the suggested retail price of some phones offered on fizz.ca. If a promotional rebate is offered on the phone you’re considering, remember that this rebate is conditional on you having an active Fizz mobile plan for an uninterrupted period of several months following the purchase date of that phone. Or, if you don’t already have a Fizz mobile plan, that you activate one within 7 days following the delivery of your phone and that you keep that plan active for an uninterrupted period of several months. How many months does this uninterrupted period represent? - If you bought your phone after 2021-05-28, this uninterrupted period totals 24 months. If you leave Fizz before the end of that period, we’ll for one be very sad to see you go. Two, you’ll have to refund the prorated portion of the promotional rebate corresponding to the number of months remaining on the initial term of this period. This amount will be invoiced using the payment method associated with your Fizz plan when you unsubscribe. The same billing method will be used if you had chosen to pay in monthly instalments with Affirm: no amount will be added to your agreement with Affirm. These fees are not penalty fees. The promotional rebate you enjoyed when you purchased the phone is simply divided by the number of months corresponding to the uninterrupted period that applies to you. You therefore only pay the portion of the rebate that corresponds to the leftover months during which you will no longer have an active Fizz mobile plan. Here’s how to calculate the amount due: 1- Locate the rebate on your invoice. Or, if you’re shopping and haven’t purchased yet, the amount of the rebate corresponds to the

Internet Traffic Management Policy
Any access of 100 Mbps or more is subject to the traffic management policy. Last update: MARCH 2023 Does Fizz apply Internet traffic management measures? Yes, Fizz applies traffic management measures, but only from the user to the Internet (upload), and fo r accesses of 100 Mbps or more (hereinafter called THE ACCESSES*). *Certain conditions (see below). Why does Fizz use Internet traffic management measures? Fizz wants to offer the best online experience to its members. Because the upload speed (from the user to the Internet) of the ACCESSES* is high, Fizz uses traffic management measures to prevent some modems from slowing down the overall service, even momentarily. What kind of traffic is targeted? Fizz does not target any particular type of traffic, nor any specific applications or protocols such as peer-to-peer file sharing. Only data uploads (from the user to the Internet) made with the ACCESSES * access are subject to traffic management. Download traffic (from the Internet to the user) is not managed. When and how does Fizz manage traffic on its network? Every 15 minutes, a system checks the traffic rate of each upstream channel (typically, one upstream channel serves a few dozen modems). If the traffic rate exceeds the threshold above which congestion occurs, the syste m identifies the modems which use these ACCESSES* in that channel that are uploading a large amount of data. The upload capacity of these modems is then given a low-priority rating. Based on the severity and time during which the congestion persists, the upload speed of these modems may then be slowed down. When the amount of data uploaded by the modems is diminished or the traffic on that channel reverts to a normal rate for which congestion is no longer an issue, the upload capacity prioritization will go back

Browsing the internet is very slow on my mobile phone. How do I fix it ?
Make sure you are in a zone that has adequate coverage. See our network coverage map If you are outside the Fizz network, you can connect via our partner network. Learn about accessing our partner network Troubleshooting: Is the Wi-Fi function turned off? Make sure you have deactivated WiFi on your phone. If browsing the internet with your phone is slow and laborious, your phone may be trying to prioritize browsing over a WiFi network instead of using the Fizz mobile network. If you are experiencing a slow WiFi network, see the following troubleshooting tip: My WiFi connection is slow. How can I speed it up? Restart your phone If the network signal is weak, your phone may be connected to an antenna that is not in an optimal location for you to access the network. Reboot (power cycle) your phone by holding down the phone’s start button for 10 seconds. Following your reboot, your applications will load. Your phone will then re-authenticate to the Fizz mobile network and potentially recover its authorization to access the network. Do tests Test your connection by visiting different websites, using another web browser and/or another application. The website you are visiting, or the browser/app you were using when your WiFi became slow may be the source of the problem. If the slow speed is limited to a single browser or application, try to completely uninstall it from your device. If the situation continues unchanged after you reinstall the browser or app, consult customer assistance for the product in question Conduct speed tests Conduct a speed test using the website or application of your choice.
