The ideal speed for your Fizz Home Internet service will depend on the number of devices connected to your network, and the amount of data their online activities require. A plan with a higher speed implies more bandwidth, which will in turn accommodate a larger volume of data traffic. If you are browsing and checking your email, you will need fewer Mbps. If several people at your address will be watching video streaming or playing games, there will be more data traffic on your network, and more Mbps will therefore be needed to make the experience enjoyable for everyone. Depending on your location and needs, you can choose a plan ranging from 30 Mbps to 940 Mbps (see details below). Our upload speeds are 10 Mbps for the 30 Mbps and 60 Mbps plans, and 50 Mbps for all other plans. Yes, Fizz applies traffic management measures, but only from the user to the Internet (upload), and fo r accesses of 100 Mbps or more (hereinafter called THE ACCESSES*). *Certain conditions (see below). Why does Fizz use Internet traffic management measures? Fizz wants to offer the best online experience to its members. Because the upload speed (from the user to the Internet) of the ACCESSES* is high, Fizz uses traffic management measures to prevent some modems from slowing down the overall service, even momentarily. What kind of traffic is targeted? Fizz does not target any particular type of traffic, nor any specific applications or protocols such as peer-to-peer file sharing. Only data uploads (from the user to the Internet) made with the ACCESSES * access are subject to traffic management. Download traffic (from the Internet to the user) is not managed. When and how does Fizz manage traffic on its network? Every 15 minutes, a system checks the traffic rate of each upstream channel (typically, one upstream channel serves a few dozen modems). If the traffic rate exceeds the threshold above which congestion occurs, the syste m identifies the modems which use these ACCESSES* in that channel that are uploading a large amount of data. The upload capacity of these modems is then given a low-priority rating. Based on the severity and time during which the congestion persists, the upload speed of these modems may then be slowed down. When the amount of data uploaded by the modems is diminished or the traffic on that channel reverts to a normal rate for which congestion is no longer an issue, the upload capacity prioritization will go back

Wireless and Internet Code is a mandatory code of conduct created by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to make it easier for Canadians to understand their rights and responsibilities related to their service contracts. The Wireless Code The CRTC's Wireless Code, which came into effect in December 2013 and was updated in December 2017, establishes requirements that all Canadian wireless providers must meet for, most notably, cancellation fees, limits on data & roaming charges, unlocked Mobile phones, trial periods and the language used in your contract. Each type of address — home, billing and shipping — has a different role in your Fizz account. Home address. Your home address is where you live. It’s the address that is associated with your Fizz account. For a mobile plan, it confirms that you live within our mobile subscription area, allowing the majority of your usage (calls, texts and data) to be done on the Fizz network as per your services agreement. See the subscription area For a Home Internet plan, it confirms that you live where the technology exists and as such, where the service is available. Billing address. Your billing address is the address associated with your payment method — usually your credit card. When you add a payment method, make sure that the address you enter is an exact match to the one on your credit card statement. If not, add a new address and copy/paste your credit card address to avoid any error. Update or add a payment method Shipping address. Your shipping address is where you’ll receive Fizz deliveries. If you order a SIM card, you can have it delivered to your home or even your workplace. If you buy a phone on fizz.ca, the shipping address will be the same as the billing address that is associated with the payment method you use to pay for your phone.

To prevent identity theft or any fraudulent use, you must absolutely block your SIM card (access to your plan and phone number) and your phone. To do so, log into your Fizz account. Under My phones you’ll see an option to report your phone as lost/stolen. But before doing that, did you think about using the function to locate your phone? How to find an iPhone phone (iCloud account) How to find an Android phone (Google account) Block your SIM card. Blocking a SIM card allows to block any fraudulent use of your plan, as well as access to your phone number. To do so, log into your Fizz account. Under My phones you’ll see an option to report your phone as lost/stolen and block your phone and/or SIM card. The block is effective immediately. When your SIM card is blocked, your mobile plan remains active. - You will stille be able to access your voicemail from another phone. See how - Best is for you to activate a new SIM card as soon as possible (with another phone if yours is also lost/stolen). - You may also unsubscribe from your mobile plan. This would come into effect at the end of your payment cycle. If you find your SIM card, you can unblock it by going back into your account. Block your phone. Blocking a phone puts it on the National Stolen Device Blacklist. Fizz contributes to maintaining this blacklist in an effort to reduce the number of mobile device thefts. When a device is registered in this registry, its access to the networks of participating wireless service providers is blocked. To block your phone, you’ll need its IMEI. That number is written on the original packaging, as well as in the documentation included at the time of purchase
