How do I use a PUK code to unblock my SIM card?
To unblock your SIM card right away, log into your Fizz account to reveal your PUK code ( My Plans > Manage > Unblock SIM card). Type the code that is revealed into your phone. If you entered 3 incorrect PIN codes and your phone displays “SIM card blocked” or “Enter PUK code”, your SIM card has been blocked to ensure your security. To unblock your SIM card, you must enter a PUK (PIN Unlock Key) code. Where to find your PUK code Log into your Fizz account and go to My Plans. Click on Manage and then Unblock SIM card. Click the slider to reveal your PUK code. Type this code into your phone to unblock your SIM. To simplify this process in the future, write down your PUK code and keep it somewhere safe or opt for the option to send it to you by email. Your account number is on your bill or in the client account for your current provider. If you cannot find your account number, or if you are not unsure about which number to use, we advise you to submit your transfer request using the IMEI for the phone you are using with your current provider. To find your IMEI, dial *#06# on your phone’s keyboard. If the number is more than 15 digits long, enter only the first 15 digits. I’m having problems transferring my current phone number to Fizz. Why? What can I do?
Note that a number transfer cannot be done on a line that is already active with Fizz. In other words, if you already have a Fizz plan, porting a number to this plan is not possible; you need to create a new plan. As outlined below, there are several possible reasons for this situation. You will receive an email, as well as an in-account notification explaining the glitch pertaining to your situation, and the next steps to address it. To check your in-account notifications, sign into your account and click on the bell icon next to your name. icon next to your name. Wrong IMEI or account number. Your phone IMEI or your account number with your current provider, whichever one you chose to use, is incorrect. Perhaps you mistyped it when entering it. To correct and redo your phone number transfer request, follow these steps: Verify your information: Ensure that all your personal information (name, address, phone number) is correct and up to date. Resend the request: We have sent you an email containing a link to restart your request. Follow the instructions: Click on the link and restart your request to complete the transfer of your number. What are the Fizz network settings (APN)?
An Access Point Name (APN) has the network settings your phone needs to connect to Fizz. The APN must be properly configured so your phone can be “introduced” to the Fizz network. Once your APN is configured, you’ll have access to your mobile data and multimedia messaging (MMS). Even with a poorly configured APN, you’ll be able to make and receive calls and texts. You will also have internet access when connected to a Wi-Fi network. Removing the SIM card from a phone with properly configured network settings (APN) could automatically reset the previous settings. If this happens, you’ll need to reconfigure the Fizz network settings. Installing network settings (Android) By inserting your SIM card in your phone, you’ll receive two notifications to configure the network settings. Install these two configurations. If a PIN code is required, enter 1234. Wait three minutes and completely restart (power cycle) your phone. Resend the network parameters (APN) to your phone (Android) Log into your Fizz account and follow this path: My plans → Manage plan → Advanced parameters → Fizz network parameters → Resend me the notifications You’ll receive two (2) notifications directly on your phone: one to configure mobile data and the other to configure multimedia messaging (MMS). Install these two (2) configurations. If a PIN code is required, enter 1234. If you inserted your SIM card into a device unknown to the Fizz mobile network, chances are you received a SMS inviting you to follow the above instructions.
