FAQ
What is an Add-On and how do I buy one?
You are traveling outside your coverage area? In this case, you probably need a travel add-on. Please see this FAQ : I’m travelling outside my coverage area. What are my options? What is an Add-on? An Add-On is additional data, minutes, text or minutes for international calls that you can add onto your current monthly plan. An Add-on must be used when you are within your coverage area. Thus, the Add-on for international calling minutes will allow you to make a call from your coverage area to the country in question. If you leave on a trip abroad, you will not be able to use these minutes once you arrive at your destination. To add an extra to your mobile plan, use this link: My plans > Manage > The extras > Add-ons Add-Ons are useful if you’re running low on monthly data or minutes, or if you want to add a feature, such as international calling, that’s not part of your current monthly plan. Buy an Add-On when you need more data, minutes, text or minutes for international call coverage than your current monthly plan allows. Add-Ons take effect immediately. How long does it take to activate an Add-On? How long does it last? Add-Ons are active immediately. They’re valid until the end of your next payment cycle. They are not subject to the 108-hour (4.5-day) freeze period. In other words, if there are 10 days left on your current payment cycle, your Add-On will be valid for approximately 40 days. FAQ
How do I know if I have a Rollover?
To find out if you have a Rollover: Go to My Plans in your Fizz account. Under the plan you wish to view (if you have more than one) click on Usage. This will open the Usage screen, which lists all your gifts, Add-Ons, Rollovers, etc. The blue arrow will tell you which data bucket you are currently using. On the right hand side you can see how many days are left for your Rollover. If I buy an Add-On and don’t use all of it by the end of the month, will it roll over? No. Only your basic plan data can be rolled over. If you buy an Add-On, it will expire at the end of your next payment cycle. If I receive a data gift and don’t use all of it by the end of the month, will it roll over? No. Only your basic plan data can be rolled over. If you are gifted data during the month, it will expire at the end of your next payment cycle. For example, say I receive gifted data on May 15, but my payment cycle ends on May 27. That gifted data will therefore be valid up until the end of my next payment cycle on June 27th. Do I keep my rolled-over data if I change my plan? Yes. Regardless of how you decide to change your plan, you keep your rolled-over data. In fact, if you change your coverage, your rolled-over data will be applied to your new coverage. For example, if you switch from a Quebec plan to a Canada-US plan, your unused, rolled-over and gifted data will be valid for this new plan. Read more : What is a Rollover and how does it work?
