Starter Kit The box contains the following items: The Wi-Fi modem (CODA-4680 or CODA-5610Q based on your plan) A coaxial cable A power cord An ethernet cable The ethernet cable is included in the box with your modem, but it is not required to set up your Wi-Fi network. Connect the coaxial cable The coaxial cable must be properly screwed in on both ends. Connect the power cord The power cord must be properly connected to the Wi-Fi modem and wall outlet (avoid using a power strip). IMPORTANT: Once it’s plugged in, your Wi-Fi modem will make its first system update, and may need to reboot after roughly 15 minutes. Make sure your modem is ready A series of lights will appear on your modem. Make sure they match this image. Write down your modem’s info Locate the network name (Default Wi-Fi Network) and password (Default Key) printed on the back of your Wi-Fi modem: CODA-4680 model: look at the back. CODA-5610Q model: look under. Make sure not to confuse similar characters such as O and 0, as well as I and 1. Before proceeding to the next step, check the available networks on a Wi-Fi-enabled device like a mobile phone and check that the FIZZ network name as indicated on your modem appears in the list of available networks. This may take a few minutes. Configure your modem Select the name of your Wi-Fi network from the list of networks available to your Wi-Fi enabled device and enter the password. Your Web browser will open*. You will be redirected to the "Easy Connect" interface. Follow the on-screen steps. *You may need to open your Web browser manually. The upgrades Each time you reach a new level in the My Rewards program, you unlock a new upgrade. An upgrade is a long-term reward that boosts your plan every month, like additional mobile data or a monthly discount on the price of your Home Internet plan. Please note that if the bonus is added during your 4.5-day freeze period before the end of your billing cycle, it will only be activated in the following billing cycle. Since the billing is already visible on your account, this is why you will need to wait for the next cycle for the bonus to take effect. Once activated on your plan, you get to enjoy your upgrade each and every month. Keep an eye out and activate your upgrades as soon as possible to fully take advantage of them. Each Fizz plan has three (3) slots on which an upgrade can be applied. The number of unlocked slots ready to welcome an upgrade varies based on your My Rewards level. If you have more than one slot available on a plan, the upgrades you’ll assign to that plan will be cumulative, making your plan even richer. You can, of course, buy a phone on fizz.ca, but you can also use your own phone with Fizz. To do so, however, your phone must be: Compatible with eSIMs if you wish to use an eSIM. VoLTE-compatible at Fizz* (required with the 3G network withdrawal that starts July 31, 2025) * If your phone is not VoLTE-compatible at Fizz, you can activate a mobile plan before July 31, 2025, but keep in mind that: Your phone must be compatible with our network and able to support its frequencies. You will need to replace your phone with a VoLTE-compatible model in anticipation of the 3G withdrawal that will start July 31, 2025. IMPORTANT: Text messaging service (SMS) can take between one (1) and twenty-four (24) hours to be functional if your mobile line has just been activated on Fizz's mobile network. Some text messages sent by businesses such as 2-step verification messages may not be sent to your phone properly. We continue to gradually roll out this type of service so that it operates optimally with as many companies as possible. Make sure you are in a zone that has adequate coverage. See our network coverage map If you are outside the Fizz network, you can connect via our partner network. Learn about accessing our partner network Troubleshooting: Make sure your plan includes text messages Log into your account to access the text message activation tool. If your plan does not include text messages, it will be impossible for you to send texts on your phone. You can adjust your plan up to 108 hours before the end of your payment cycle to add text messaging. This change to your plan will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. You can also add minutes to your plan and use them immediately by buying an Add-On for local or long-distance calls. Restart your phone Reboot (power cycle) your phone by holding down the phone’s start button for 10 seconds. After you reboot, your applications will reload. Your phone will then re-authenticate to the Fizz mobile network. This will allow your phone to recover its authorization to access the network. Do you use a native application? Make sure you are using your phone’s native messaging app. If you are using a non-native application to send your messages, it’s possible that the issue originates with this app. These messaging apps may have their own server or messaging centre. By purchasing one of these phones, this discount will be applied to your mobile plan every month for 24 months. The Phone discount in detail Let’s illustrate with an example. You buy a phone identified with a 24-month 15% discount for your plan. You pay for your phone as usual, paying it upfront or spreading its cost with Affirm. You pair your phone with your mobile plan regularly priced at say $20/month. Your plan comes out then to $17/month ($20 – 15% Phone discount) for 24 months. After the 24-month period, your Phone discount ends and your plan goes back to its regular price of $20/month. No commitment and no minimum plan. Your Phone discount applies to your mobile plan, regardless of its value. And as always with Fizz, there’s no long-term commitment. The Phone discount will be applied to your mobile plan for 24 months, but you can choose to shorten this period. Several plans, several Phone discounts. For every mobile plan in your account, you can purchase a selected phone and take advantage of the Phone discount for that plan. In other words, the limit is one Phone discount per plan. New to Fizz? The name of the network indicated on your phone will not initially say Fizz. Instead, you will see Fizz EXT. We are aware of this situation and are working to address it. Rest assured, your phone is not roaming, and you will not incur any charges. Simply restart your phone 72 hours (that’s 3 days) following the activation of your SIM card, and all will be in order. Access a partner network on mobile The expanded coverage zone is for our mobile clients who travel in specific regions not covered by the Fizz network. It is intended for occasional coverage, and applies to both Quebec and Canada. The majority of your usage (calls, texts and data) must be done on the Fizz network. We reserve the right to interrupt or block access to our network of partner providers if you use your mobile service primarily on their networks for 3 consecutive payment periods . Use our coverage map to check that you are using your phone in a zone covered by the Fizz network. Visit our network coverage map Recognize a partner network Our phones are programmed to prioritize the Fizz network. When your phone is outside the Fizz network, it will automatically connect to an available partner network. When you’re connected to a partner network, its name will be displayed on your phone as Fizz EXT. It is important to check the name of the network indicated on your phone. If it does not say Fizz, you are on one of our partner networks and your usage will be considered extended coverage. You can adjust your phone’s settings to limit this usage by deactivating roaming on our partner networks. Good to know: The Quebec coverage area also includes the Ottawa region.
