How to test my Fizz line?
Four easy tests to confirm your Fizz line is functioning properly: Make and receive a call. Doesn’t work? Send and receive a text message (SMS). Doesn’t work? If your plan contains data, turn off your Wi-Fi option and then: Surf the web. Doesn’t work? Send and receive an image/picture by text (MMS). Doesn’t work? Once these tests are completed, you’ll be ready to roll with Fizz line and your brand new mobile plan. The phone overheats
Restart your phone Reboot (power cycle) your phone by holding down the phone’s power button for 10 seconds. If it’s a timely issue with the operating system or an app, the phone will be able to reload everything to work properly. Does your phone overheat at a specific moment? Your phone is made of the same type of material as a computer. It’s normal its processor overheats when it’s being over-solicited. Some apps such as games solicit a lot of resources, and can cause your phone to overheat. Manufacturers programmed performance and temperature limits unique to each model to make sure they don’t get damaged when used. Restore your phone to its factory settings IMPORTANT: Save all media, contacts, apps and text messages that are archived and want to keep before proceeding. Some of your phone’s parameters will need to be reconfigured after: mobile data blocking, NPA, Wi-Fi settings, Bluetooth function etc. The steps to follow to reset your network settings will vary depending on the type of phone. Here are two examples: Android: Applications → Settings → General management → Reset → Reset settings → Click on Reset settings iPhone: Settings → General → Reset → Erase all content and settings Check whether the issue is still there before configuring and personalizing your phone, or installing apps. Where can I see a list of my Wallet transactions?
Good to know: Offers, services and prices are subject to change without notice and may differ by province. In the case of the Fizz Wallet, it is only offered in Quebec. Every transaction that happens with your Wallet — funds transfer, purchases, Top-Ups, Pay As You Go — is tracked in your Wallet History. To view your Wallet History, go to: Go to My Plans in your Fizz account. If you have more than one plan, scroll to the plan you want to view. Click the Manage button. This will open the Manage interface. Click on Wallet. Inside the Wallet interface, click on Transaction history. Your Transaction history shows a list of all transactions that have occured in your Wallet. Click on each line to see details about that specific transaction. Phone doesn’t reboot
Try turning the phone on while it’s charging Plug your phone to a functioning charger, and try to power it on. Sometimes the mere fact of being connected to an energy source allows the boot sequence. Try charging via USB or with another charger Check that this is not an issue with a damaged electric cable. Test with another cable to make sure. You can also test the charge by removing the power supply block, and connecting the USB end (Type A) into a compatible device. Check that the cable works well by trying to charge another phone if you have one. Remove the battery, and put it back in (removable only) On some phone models, the battery is removable. If this is the case for your phone, remove the battery for at least 10 seconds and put it back in place. Then, try turning your phone on again. What’s a Preloved phone?
A Preloved phone is not brand-new, but it’s a great alternative if you’re looking for a great phone but don’t want to pay full price. Preloved phones come with a warranty of 6 months. Look up warranty details. All Preloved phones are carefully cleaned. They are inspected and tested by our technicians, who also make sure there is no water damage. Note: The battery operates at a minimum of 80% of its initial capacity and battery life will vary based upon prior usage. Preloved phones have not been repaired, remanufactured, or refurbished by the original manufacturers. Accessories included with Preloved phones, whether they are new or used, may not be original manufacturer accessories and are not covered by the warranty. There are two (2) Second Chance phone categories: Perfect and Almost Perfect, each with its own aesthetic criteria based on industry standards. You can also choose to purchase a brand-new device if you prefer. Criteria for a Perfect Preloved phone. A Perfect phone was slightly used. You might see some negligible traces of wear if you look closely, but : No cracks. No dents, or evidence of a fall. No display defects (missing pixels, white spots, burn ins, etc.) No major scratch on the main display or on any camera lenses. Criteria for an Almost perfect Preloved phone. An Almost perfect phone was previously used but is in very good condition. You may see a few marks, and in some cases minor scratches or traces of light wear, but : No cracks. What is an unlocked phone?
An unlocked phone is one that is not linked to any specific cellular network. For example, when you buy your phone from a mobile provider, you will only be able to use it with that carrier until you unlock it. Legislation now allows all Canadians to unlock their phones, regardless of the original carrier. Unlocking your phone means you are able to use it with any carrier, provided that your phone is compatible with its network and bands. If you bought your phone from a Canadian provider after December 1, 2017, it is unlocked by default. When your phone is unlocked, you can insert a SIM card from any mobile provider to use your phone on their network. How can I see if my phone is locked Insert your Fizz SIM card (activated or not activated) into your phone. When your card is inserted: Your phone is unlocked if it connects to the network or asks you for a PIN code to unlock the SIM card. Your phone is locked if it asks you for a SIM unlock code.
