Wireless and Internet Code is a mandatory code of conduct created by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to make it easier for Canadians to understand their rights and responsibilities related to their service contracts. The Wireless Code The CRTC's Wireless Code, which came into effect in December 2013 and was updated in December 2017, establishes requirements that all Canadian wireless providers must meet for, most notably, cancellation fees, limits on data & roaming charges, unlocked Mobile phones, trial periods and the language used in your contract. Why do I need a SIM card?
Good to know: if your phone is compatible with eSIMS, our eSIM is free, and you can order, install and activate it all in one shot. See the steps for an eSIM here. If your phone is not compatible with eSIMs or if you prefer having a physical SIM card, it’s all good as well. Your SIM card is what identifies you and connects your phone (whether you buy one on fizz.ca or bring your own) to the mighty fine Fizz mobile network. A VoLTE compatible SIM card is therefore required. This SIM card shows a red lightning bolt icon. A Fizz VoLTE SIM card: has no expiry date or limited lifetime; can be activated at any time; can be reused if the initial plan with which it was associated has been cancelled. How do I identify my account number to transfer my number to Fizz?
If you are following the process of transferring your current phone number to Fizz, the table below outlines the account number formats used by different providers. Your account number is on your bill or in the client account for your current provider. If you cannot find your account number, or if you are not unsure about which number to use, we advise you to submit your transfer request using the IMEI for the phone you are using with your current provider. To find your IMEI, dial *#06# on your phone’s keyboard. If the number is more than 15 digits long, enter only the first 15 digits. How do I manage my Fizz account?
When you login to your account, you will see a summary of your status to date. The top navigation on this screen enables you to view and manage different aspects of your account. In the top navigation, click on: Overview to see your usage for this payment cycle. My Settings to manage your referrals, linked accounts, contacts and settings. My Plans to adjust all plans on your account. Your Account Number Your account number can be found on the first page of your service agreement. This document was sent to you by email when you activated your plan. You can also find it through your Fizz account. Go to My Plans > Manage My Plan. The information will be displayed at the top of the page. Your Fizz account number is not your phone number. Your Fizz account number is a unique identifier assigned to your account when you sign up. It is used to manage your account and access your services. Unlike your phone number, which is used for calls and messages, your Fizz account number is essential for interactions with customer service and managing your account online.
