Why is VoLTE important?
The withdrawal of the 3G network will start July 31, 2025, for Fizz and several of its partners. All calls made with your Fizz mobile plan will then go through the LTE network thanks to VoLTE technology. But to do so, you need to: Use a VoLTE-compatible SIM card or an eSIM (if your phone allows it). Use a phone that is VoLTE-compatible at Fizz. Activate the VoLTE function on your phone. IMPORTANT: If any of these criteria is not met, none of your c alls (including 911 calls) will go through when the 3G network is gone. To learn more about the withdrawal of the 3G network in Canada, visit the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) website, and the Canadian Telecommunications Association website. What is VoLTE VoLTE stands for Voice over LTE, which basically means a phone call will use the LTE network. The opportunity to use the LTE network for your calls means: Improved sound quality for your calls. Faster routing of your calls, meaning the delay for the phone to ring at the other end will be shorter. Reduced interruptions when you go from the Fizz network to a partner network. Criteria #1: a VoLTE-compatible SIM card Your SIM connects your phone to the Fizz LTE network. If it’s not VoLTE (voice over LTE) compatible, no calls (including 911 calls) will be possible with the plan associated with this SIM card when the 3G network is gone. A VoLTE-compatible SIM card shows a red lightning bolt icon: If you need to change your SIM card, sign in to your Fizz account > My benefizz > My rewards > My perks. There, you’ll see a perk to get yourself a new VoLTE-compatible SIM card for free. Changing your SIM card for one that is VoLTE-compatible will not

I’m travelling outside my coverage area. What are my options?
Please note that making and receiving calls outside Canada and the United States is currently unavailable. However, text messaging and data usage remain accessible. You can choose to get a block of data known as a Travel Add-on or pay as you go (only available in Quebec) your data usage and your text messages (by the way, incoming texts are always free). You can even change your plan’s coverage if you’re travelling in Canada or the United States. But you know what? Wi-Fi always remains your best friend 😊 . Knowing which option is best for your travels will depend on how long you’ll be away, and how much you’ll be using your phone while roaming outside your coverage area. As a rule of thumb, a Travel Add-on will be better for long trips, while paying as you go will suffice for a quick getaway. But regardless of your choice remember to activate the roaming option of your phone, or else it'll block your usage. How much will it cost. To see the rates for the place you’re heading to, sign into your account and go under My plans > Manage plan > Travel . Enter your destination. The site will show the prices for the available Travel Add-ons, as well as the applicable pay as you go rates. Know that the prices and the rates that are shown apply to a zone. A zone is a group of countries that all share the same rates. In other words, if you’re travelling within the countries of that zone, you can use the same Travel Add-on or enjoy the same pay as you go rates. When you’re researching the rates for a destination in your account, the link to discover all the countries included in a given zone is under the

How can I change the SIM associated with my mobile plan?
The SIM card (subscriber identification module) is a chip with information that identifies you and connects your phone to the Fizz mobile network. If you lose or break your SIM, your mobile plan will no longer work. And since your SIM is associated with your plan, it’s important to follow the right steps to replace it. Same goes if you lose your phone. You must change your SIM and associate a new one with your mobile plan. Important: Once your new SIM is activated, the old one that is currently associated with your plan will be automatically deactivated. If you are looking to activate a SIM card for a new plan, and not an existing plan that is already active in your account, head this way > https://fizz.ca/en/faq/activate How to replace a Fizz SIM If your Fizz SIM card needs to be changed due to the removal of 3G for a VoLTE-compatible card, it will be free. 1) Sign in to your account The steps to follow automatically succeed one another in your Fizz account. Go under My plans > Manage plan > Change SIM card to start. From there, you can order a new SIM or go straight to the activation step if you already have one. Having issues connecting to your account? Right this way for some troubleshooting. 2) Activate your new SIM by associating it with your Fizz plan. Follow the on-screen steps. Select the plan for which you want to change the SIM and enter the activation code of your new SIM. 3) Complete the security validation step. At this stage, you will be asked to enter the details of a payment method associated with your mobile plan. The idea is to validate your identity as the owner of the plan. You will not be billed
