If y our Home Internet service was diagnosed by our Customer Service team with a malfunction, or you need to add or relocate an outlet, then your appointment is actually a service call. Here are a few things to know to make sure the technician’s visit runs as smoothly as possible. On average, a visit lasts less than an hour. You’ll get a better time estimate once the technician is on-site. Do not expect a call from the technician. He’ll only contact you at the number you provided when you planned your appointment if he plans to arrive before or after the allocated time slot. A person over 18 years old must be present. If not, the technician cannot complete the work , and a new appointment will have to be scheduled. Your equipment should be easily accessible. M ove ahead of time any furniture that may complicate things. If you’re the owner of a household pet, please keep it away from the rooms where the technician will be working. If you are a building tenant, have the owner’s written authorization beforehand should the technician need to drill, for example, a hole in an exterior wall. If the building owner is on-site, his verbal agreement will suffice. If you have shared ownership of your property, be familiar with the rules of your association in regard to such matter. The electrical room also needs to be accessible. If a technician’s visit is required, the time needed to get an appointment

Things change — we get it. Need faster Internet? Need to slow things down? You can change your plan directly in your account on Fizz.ca. Changes will take effect on your next payment cycle. Good to know: Keep in mind the freeze period during which your plan cannot be modified. Ideally, aim to submit your changes when there are at least 4.5 days (108 hours) left in your current payment cycle. How can you know? Go in your account > My plans. Look right under your monthly price and you will see the days remaining in your payment cycle. To change your plan Go to  My Plans  in your Fizz account. Scroll to the plan you wish to change. Click on  Manage > Adjust your plan . Choose your new speed. Y ou will see your new monthly fee in the box below. When you like what you see, save. Changes take effect at the start of your  next payment cycle . Good to know: When you change your plan, you don't lose your rewards. For example, the My Rewards upgrade for dollars off the price of your plan, or the one for free mobile data every month will continue to apply to your new plan. Important – Any change to your plan must be made in accordance with the plan change policy detailed on  https://fizz.ca/en/plan-change-policy.   Restart your modem When your new plan goes live on the first day of your new payment cycle, restart your Wi-Fi modem: Unplug the power cable on your Wi-Fi modem. Make sure all the lights on the modem are off once you have unplugged it. Wait ten (10) seconds. Plug your modem back into the electrical outlet. Expect a three (3) minute delay to allow your devices to reconnect to the Wi-Fi network. To cancel the changes you made to your plan Go

Moving your Home Internet plan is done directly from your account. Submit your request under My plans > Manage plan > Moving my service. Word of the wise, don’t forget to pack your Fizz Wi-Fi modem and bring it with you on your moving day! Need to change your Home Internet plan? No worries, but plan to do so before or after your move. You cannot modify your Home Internet plan during your move. Date coordination Chances are the date you choose to deactivate your Home Internet service at your current address will differ from the installation date you select for your new digs. If that’s your case, no worries. Your plan will be simply put on pause, and you won't incur any fees during that time. Your payment cycle will shift and begin upon activation at your new address. If a technician’s visit is required, the time needed to get an appointment varies based on demand. So, make sure to plan ahead during the moving season in June and July. A plan (or the service) is not available As you fill out your move request for your Home Internet plan, we’ll obviously ask you to enter your new address. One of three things can happen: > All is fine. This is great, but chances are this is not your case if you’re reading this section of our FAQ. > The download speed you have now is not available at your new address. Perhaps you are moving from an area with high bandwidth to one with lower bandwidth, which impacts the download speeds available to you. Choose a new plan. On the activation date of your new plan at your new address, your old plan will be refunded to you on a prorated basis. > Fizz Home Internet is not

When you are traveling outside your usual coverage area, you will be able to use data, and send/receive texts when you travel outside your coverage zone. To make and receive calls, you can use messaging apps such as WhatsApp or Messenger. Please note that the use of certain applications may be prohibited in some countries. Note: Charges may apply to use your phone while you are outside your coverage zone. See: I’m travelling outside Canada. What are my roaming options? When you are traveling outside your usual coverage area and using your phone, you must connect to an available local mobile network that is compatible with your phone. Troubleshooting: Is there mobile data in your plan? If your plan does not include data, you will not be able to connect to the Fizz mobile internet network. 1. You can adjust your plan to extend you data coverage to all Canada or Canada+US : this change comes into effect at the start of your next billing cycle. 2. You can also add data to your plan and use them right away by buying a Travel data Add-on. 3. Remember that you can also access the internet by connecting to a WiFi network. 4. If you are travelling, depending on the country you are visiting, you may be able to add money to your wallet to pay as you go. Your phone has a software switch that allows you to connect or disconnect from the Fizz mobile network. By doing this, you can allow or prevent your phone from using mobile data. Once you’re a member, we’ll assign you your very own unique referral code. You’ll then be able to earn additional referral bonuses by inviting friends to use your referral code to join Fizz. You therefore have the opportunity to get a referral bonus by getting invited to Fizz, but also afterwards by inviting friends to join. You must have an active Fizz plan to invite friends and receive referral bonuses. The usual amount for the referral bonus is $25 (the bonus is $35 from March 20th to April 30th 2025) for both the Fizz member and the person they invite, but this amount can vary based on the activation date. More specifically: for a mobile plan, the date at which the person who was invited activates their SIM card. for a Home Internet plan, the date at which the person who was invited subscribed and chose their installation appointment. Learn more on how referral bonuses work, and are allocated. Getting invited Any one person can only be invited once, and thus use a referral code when they subscribe to their first Fizz service. For example, if a person subscribes to the Fizz mobile service without using a referral code, one cannot be applied retroactively. This same person cannot use a referral code if they activate a Home Internet plan since that plan will now be their second Fizz plan. Don’t know anyone at Fizz? Make sure you are in an area covered by our service. View network coverage maps If you are outside of Fizz's coverage area, you may still be able to use your mobile data by connecting to our WAN. How to access the extended network If you are outside the Fizz coverage area, your phone is probably in roaming mode.   Options for using data while roaming      Is there data in your plan? Make sure you have mobile data in your plan.   My Plans. If there is no data in your plan, you will not be able to access the Fizz mobile Internet network. You can change your plan to add data. This change will take effect come your next payment cycle. Other options: Buy an Add-on which will allow you to use its data right away. Connect to a Wi-Fi network. Is your data enabled? Your phone has a software switch that allows you to grant or deny access to the Fizz mobile Internet network. By doing so, you allow, or not, your phone to use mobile data.   The procedure for allowing the use of mobile data may vary from one phone to another.
