Please note that starting November 4, 2019, the entire Canadian telecom industry will gradually implement universal call blocking in an attempt to prevent telephone fraud. As a member of this industry, Fizz will be activating this feature for all its mobile service members. Starting this November 4th, non-compliant numbers could therefore be blocked. What is universal call blocking? Universal call blocking is an automated feature, based on well-defined rules. The feature is designed to block calls that do not comply with international numbering plan standards to counter unwanted calls and telephone fraud. Why is Fizz implementing this feature? Actually, starting November 4, 2019, the entire Canadian telecom industry (which Fizz is a part of) will be gradually implementing universal call blocking to counter unwanted calls and support the fight against telephone fraud. As a mobile phone service subscriber, you get all kinds of calls. The majority of them are legitimate; they come from family or friends. Others come from automated systems; even though some are honest calls (automated appointment reminders, for instance), a large number of them are unwanted and might actually be fraud related. That’s why Fizz, as a member of the Canadian telecom industry, will be implementing this feature for its members. Do I need to pay for universal call blocking? No, you won’t incur any additional charges for this feature. It’ll be gradually implemented nationwide by the Canadian telecom industry members, starting November 4, 2019. How does this feature work? What kind of numbers will be blocked, and under which circumstances? Universal call blocking is designed to automatically block any call it receives that does not comply with international numbering plan standards, which states that a telephone number cannot have more than 15 digits. What do I do if my phone or SIM card is stolen?
To prevent identity theft or any fraudulent use, you must absolutely block your SIM card (access to your plan and phone number) and your phone. To do so, log into your Fizz account. Under My phones you’ll see an option to report your phone as lost/stolen. But before doing that, did you think about using the function to locate your phone? How to find an iPhone phone (iCloud account) How to find an Android phone (Google account) Block your SIM card. Blocking a SIM card allows to block any fraudulent use of your plan, as well as access to your phone number. To do so, log into your Fizz account. Under My phones you’ll see an option to report your phone as lost/stolen and block your phone and/or SIM card. The block is effective immediately. When your SIM card is blocked, your mobile plan remains active. - You will stille be able to access your voicemail from another phone. See how - Best is for you to activate a new SIM card as soon as possible (with another phone if yours is also lost/stolen). - You may also unsubscribe from your mobile plan. This would come into effect at the end of your payment cycle. If you find your SIM card, you can unblock it by going back into your account. Block your phone. Blocking a phone puts it on the National Stolen Device Blacklist. Fizz contributes to maintaining this blacklist in an effort to reduce the number of mobile device thefts. When a device is registered in this registry, its access to the networks of participating wireless service providers is blocked. To block your phone, you’ll need its IMEI. That number is written on the original packaging, as well as in the documentation included at the time of purchase

What are the Fizz apps?
To manage your Fizz account. In fact, our website has been designed to allow you to manage your account online, even from your phone. So no need for an app: our site adapts itself based on the device used and allows you to access all the features of your account. Tip: Add fizz.ca as a shortcut on your phone screen. You'll have all the advantages of an app, without having to download anything. Here's how to add fizz.ca as a shortcut on your phone screen: With an Android phone: Using the Google Chrome browser, go to fizz.ca Log in to your account. Click on the square with the three dots (depending on the device, it’ll be at the bottom of the screen, or in the upper right corner of the browser). Select "Pin on home screen". With a Apple phone: Using the Safari browser, go to fizz.ca Log in to your account. Click on the Share icon (the square with an arrow pointing up). Scroll down the menu that appears. I’m unable to log into my Fizz account. What do I do?
New Fizz account. If you’re new to Fizz and recently created your account, the confirmation of your email address is key. This step must be completed within 24 hours by clicking on the link in the validation email we sent you. If the 24-hour delay has passed, no worries. By clicking on the link in the validation email, you will be redirected to a window from which you can request a new link. Or you can go on fizz.ca and sign in. The system will automatically send you a new link to finalize the creation of your account. Reset or change your password. Everyone can forget. And if that’s your case, no worries. There’s a magic link on the login page that allows you to change your password. When asked, enter the email address associated with your Fizz account. You’ll then receive an email from us with a link to reset your password. Beware, you’ll have 30 minutes to take action. After that, the link won’t work, and you’ll have to start over. If you do end up doing this a few times, use the link in the most recent email. The other, previous links won’t work. Good to know: After changing your password, you may need to clear the cache of your Internet browser to delete your history and your cookies. Account is locked. If your account is locked and attempts to reset your password are not working, contact us by clicking on the chat bubble at the bottom right . We’ll look into the matter together and settle on the next steps. Account does not exist. How do I use a PUK code to unblock my SIM card?
To unblock your SIM card right away, log into your Fizz account to reveal your PUK code ( My Plans > Manage > Unblock SIM card). Type the code that is revealed into your phone. If you entered 3 incorrect PIN codes and your phone displays “SIM card blocked” or “Enter PUK code”, your SIM card has been blocked to ensure your security. To unblock your SIM card, you must enter a PUK (PIN Unlock Key) code. Where to find your PUK code Log into your Fizz account and go to My Plans. Click on Manage and then Unblock SIM card. Click the slider to reveal your PUK code. Type this code into your phone to unblock your SIM. To simplify this process in the future, write down your PUK code and keep it somewhere safe or opt for the option to send it to you by email. After you unblock your SIM card After unlocking your SIM card with a PUK code, go to your phone settings to personalize your PIN code. Choose an easy-to-remember PIN — it will prevent you from accidentally blocking your SIM card again. How do I personalize my PIN? If you enter the incorrect PUK code 10 times, your SIM card will be permanently blocked. You will need to order a new SIM card.
