Good to know: smartwatches are not supported at this time.

If you wish to use an eSIM
Good to know: if your phone is not compatible with eSIMs, don’t worry. You can still get a physical SIM card online, or from one of our partner stores.
Important: Check your device’s compatibility before ordering an eSIM.
Not all phones support eSIM technology, and even among compatible models, certain versions or software updates may affect compatibility.
It is therefore essential to verify this information directly with your device’s manufacturer (for example, on their website or by contacting their customer service) to ensure that your specific model and its current software version support the use of an eSIM.
Fizz cannot guarantee compatibility for every device on the market, and we do not maintain a comprehensive list of supported devices.

If you’re using your own phone, is it VoLTE-compatible with Fizz?

All calls made with your Fizz mobile plan will then go through the LTE network thanks to VoLTE technology. That’s why it’s so important for your phone to be VoLTE-compatible at Fizz or else none of your calls (including 911 calls) will go through when the 3G network is gone.

Why does VoLTE certification vary by operator?
A mobile phone’s VoLTE certification is the result of a technical and commercial agreement between the manufacturer and the operator. Because each operator sets its own requirements and certifications, a given phone may be compatible with VoLTE for one operator, but not for another.
Here are the reasons why compatibility may differ between operators:
- Separate certifications: Each operator must certify the compatibility of a given phone with its own VoLTE network. If an operator has actively participated in this process and requested that the phone be compatible with its VoLTE configuration, the phone will be able to use VoLTE on that operator’s network.
- Various VoLTE configurations: Operators may use slightly different technical configurations for their VoLTE service. A phone that is certified with one operator may not be compatible with another operator’s configuration.
- Launch date: If an operator launches their VoLTE service and certifies a particular phone, that phone may not be compatible with another operator’s VoLTE if that operator has not yet launched their service or has not yet included that phone in their certification process.
- Certification cycle: The certification process of a phone can continue for a few months following its commercial launch. If a device is declared non-compatible with an operator’s VoLTE configuration, it is rare for the manufacturer to modify the phone afterwards to make it compatible.
Note: If you bring your own phone, and that phone is not on our list of VoLTE-compatible phones, know that Fizz does not block or prevent VoLTE from working on any phone. The decision whether or not to include the Fizz settings in a device not marketed by Fizz is at the discretion of the manufacturer.
