How do I set up my voicemail?
The voicemail allows people to leave you a message that you can listen to at any time from:
- Your mobile phone
- A residential or commercial analog phone
Voicemail will record messages if your phone is off, the line is busy, or there is no answer after four rings (20 seconds).
To use your Voicemail, make sure your plan includes minutes or that you have funds in your Wallet to pay-per-use. If you don’t, you will not be able to use it or access it, whether from your mobile phone or another phone.
Activate your voicemail
Log into your account to activate voicemail by making a plan change at least 48 hours before the end of your payment cycle, and adding the voicemail option (in My Plans > Manage plan > Make changes to this plan > Change plan > Voicemail). This change will come into effect at the beginning of your next payment cycle.
Your voicemail feature must be activated for the messaging service to answer a call.
Log into your voicemail
To access your voicemail hold the ''1'' key on your phone for a few seconds, or manually dial the Fizz voicemail phone number.
For many phones, holding the ''1'' key the speed dial option to reach voicemail. This may vary between different phone models.
To manually access your mailbox, dial (1-514-647-0999). This number is valid from all locations and area codes in Quebec (514, 450, 418, 819).
The speed dial setting "1" to access voicemail (1-514-647-0999) may vary from one phone to another since it depends on each model’s operating system. Additionally, this setting may not be editable in all phones.
Create your voicemail greeting
You can record a personalized three (3) minute greeting that people will hear when they are transferred to your mailbox.
You can also choose the pre-programmed greeting.
People who try to reach you will hear your phone number and a short message stating that you are not available to take their call.
Will you keep the 20 seconds?
You can determine how long before callers are transferred to your voicemail.
By default, incoming calls will be redirected to your mailbox after 20 seconds without a response.
However, you can adjust this timeframe by dialing the following combination in your phone:
Note: The number of seconds you choose must be a multiple of 5 and be between 5 and 30 seconds.
