Any phone purchased on fizz.ca is unlocked. You are solely responsible for the security and privacy maintenance of your phone. Adding a passcode for example to protect your phone from unauthorized use is good practice. If you are new to Fizz mobile services Welcome! Activating your Fizz SIM card with the plan of your dreams is the first thing to do. Visit fizz.ca/activation and follow the on-screen steps. If anything is unclear, check out our activation FAQ . If you already have an active Fizz mobile plan If your new phone is replacing one with an active Fizz mobile plan, follow these steps: Pop out the phone tray of your old phone, and retrieve your Fizz SIM card. Place it into the tray of your new phone.* Restart your phone. Your phone will authenticate to the Fizz mobile network, and work with your existing mobile plan. Remember, the content from your old phone will not be imported with the SIM card swap. This includes your contacts, your Google or Apple ID account, old text messages, and the various apps you downloaded over time. Your Fizz SIM card is too small for your new phone? Use the support it came in to adjust its size to a larger one. If you don’t have that plastic support anymore, you’ll have to order a new SIM card . When you add a plan to your account, one of these plans may not be used by you — it may be used by your child, your spouse, etc. You will be able to manage aspects of this plan and will make all monthly payments, Add-Ons, etc. Decide if this person will have their own Fizz account. If they do, they WILL be able to: Participate in the Rewards Program: By having their own account, the My Rewards points that this person will receive will go into their account, and not yours. From that point on, that person will be able to manage their upgrades and perks themselves. You won’t have access to them anymore. Also important to know – if you’re at say level 4, the person you declare autonomous with their own account will start their My Rewards program at level 1. Manage their own preferences for Fizz communications Participate in the Fizz Community Hub Modify their plan* *You decide what this user can do by modifying their user permissions. In both cases the user you invite will need to have an unlocked phone. If this person will not have their own Fizz account, they WILL NOT be able to do any of the above. This may be ideal for a child or elderly relative. Add a user with an account How to add a user with their own Fizz account: Go to My Plans in your Fizz account. Select the plan to which you want to add the user. Click on Manage and choose Add a user. Select: “Choose this option if the person WILL be able to…” Enter the user’s email address* and define your relationship to them. Configure this user’s permissions. Which mobile plan am I allowed? The beauty of buying a phone with Fizz is that there are no restrictions on your Fizz mobile plan : You create the mobile plan you want, whether it’s big or small, to go with the phone you choose. You can change your plan as many times as you like. You are not stuck, and only pay for what you need each month. Did you know you can get a discount on your mobile plan for 24 months? As you shop for a phone, new or Preloved, look for the phones identified with a purple stamp to get a discount for your plan for 24 months. If you have lots of unused data on a given month for instance, that data will roll over to the following month. So you may choose to reduce the amount of data included in your plan (and therefore pay less for that month) to benefit from that rolled over data. New and Preloved phones Fizz offers a wide range of phones, new or refurbished, from smart models to flip phones. A new phone is, well, brand-new, and comes with the manufacturer’s warranty . Look up warranty details. A Preloved phone is not brand-new, but it’s a great alternative if you’re looking for a great phone but don’t want to pay full price. Preloved phones come with a warranty of 6 months. Look up warranty details. There are two (2) categories of Preloved phones: Perfect Almost perfect A Perfect phone was slightly used. You might see some negligible traces of wear if you look closely. An Almost perfect phone was previously used, but is in very good condition. You may see a few marks and in some cases, minor scratches or traces of light wear. Consult the cosmetic criteria
